How does this piece of evidence show the chosen IB Learner Profile characteristics? 

This evidence demonstrates the IB learner profile characteristic of THINKERS as now that I am able to look back at my work and the process of creating it, I am able to reflect on my experience. This being that while I'm not good at math, I am able to solve different problems that I might face and use them to my advantage, which I consider it a strength. 

Which challenges did I face when developing this particular evidence?

I consider that the challenge that I faced during the making of this project was mostly how to express my mathematical knowledge and put it into words.

Coming up with a way in which I could showcase what I had learned during the last two years of IB math within the topic that I chose demonstrate it to be a major challenge that I had to face while developing my project.

Having Pole Position in F1 Increases the Chances of Winning

IA

The purpose of this evidence was to showcase everything we have learned the past two years and put it into practice through a topic chosen by the student. For my Internal Assessment I chose Formula 1 racing as my topic, more specifically if pole position increases the chances of winning. For this evidence I chose one of the mathematical processes of my IA, as it demonstrated to be one of the most challenging, yet rewarding parts of this whole project. 

Trigonometry Video 

The aim of this project was to create a 5 minute video explaining how to workout a trigonometry problem, and it's basic and important elements.

Communicators 

How does this piece of evidence show the chosen IB Learner Profile characteristics? 

I consider that this piece of evidence showcases the IB learner profile characteristic of COMMUNICATORS as we first had to have a full understanding in order to explain it in a creative way that wouldn't be seen as a conventional way of explaining a mathematical process. Mostly, I think this evidence demonstrates the characteristic of communicators as it is the evidence of the ability we have to express our understanding in different forms.

How can this particular evidence help me in the future? 

I think that this particular evidence will help me in the future as it taught me how to figure out a way to make things work. At first I did not understand anything about trigonometry, or at least enough in order to explain it. Afterwards we were not only able to understand it but also explain it in such a way that it can be understood by a great majority. Therefore, I consider that this project will help me in a future in how I communicate and use my communicative tools to my advantage.

Voronoi Diagram Project

The aim of this project was to work in teams and use of each team mates location as a point and create a voronoi diagram. 

Reflective / Thinkers  

How does this piece of evidence show the chosen IB Learner Profile characteristics? 

I consider that this piece of evidence showcases the IB learner profile characteristic of both reflection and thinkers as I had to reflect on everything that I have learned and also know how to make it work as a team and help each other and have each other backs in our strengths and weaknesses. Likewise the way in which we approach this project was interesting as this presented some complex problems. 

What did I learn about myself while completing this evidence? 

During this project I learned that I sometimes work better in a team. I was able to understand this as it gave me a clear example on how everyone is different and is better at something than you are. With this skills we can all support each other in our weaknesses and our strengths and therefore learn from those you work with. Likewise, I was able to let go of some control which is sometimes difficult for me. I learned that it is okay not being in control all the time. 

Which challenges did I face when developing this particular evidence?

While developing this project I encountered a lot of challenges, one of them being that my understanding of the topic wasn't the greatest. I had to work hard and work with my team to understand the mathematical process behind the project. It was interesting working with my team, I loved it but sometimes we would gossip a little too much so we had to find a balance.
